Re: backfiring at 4500

Welcome dylan! The experts here are chomping at their bits to help you out. But ya gotta give some information about your setup. List everything about your car that you can think of. Oh, while you're thinking of stuff to write, do so while checking for loose /removed vacuum hoses.

you checked to see if you have any codes for knock or oxygen sensors? Have you replaced your opti spark yet?

Re: not pulling like it should

Backfiring is usually a timing issue on the LT1. Check plugs, wires and opti. Pray it is not your Opti. They are a bit of a pain to change and they are not cheap. How many miles on the car?
