Call SLP with your VIN and I think they can give it to you. They use to do it throught their web site and forums but since the Camaro was discontinued they went in other directions.

on the passenger side door Jam .. there should be a sticker that says SLP etc.. and somewhere near the top I believe should have the # of the SS. Mine is 1113 . lets see if our cars were near each other during there transformation for the Better. !!

What year is your SS? My '96 didn't have the SLP number anywhere on it and I was told the '97 didn't either...

But does it say what production number it is? When the SLP folks had forums you had to provide your VIN and they gave you the SPL production number. It wasn't found on the stickers.

Re: How do i no if i have a true SS

My 96 SS has the number 373 right on console plus I have all the original door jam and front cowl stickers and birthdate from SLP. It is getting hard to find original parts for the SS now and I need air induction air filter cover that says Z28 SS and can't find one, mine has one broken piece on it. Anyway it is one of the best and most comfortable cars I have owned. Love the handling and performance and the A/C and Bose stereo and power accessories

Re: How do i no if i have a true SS

Ed you are correct the '96s (early ones I think) got a numbered plate but by '97 they just got a SS plate. Good luck finding the Z28SS logo'd parts, I believe all replacement parts over the counter didn't have the 2 together. SLP did have floor mats for the longest time but colors were limited. Check salvage yards, GM Sport Salvage would be a good start.
