Skip Shift Kits

Anyone try using a skip shift eliminater for a fourth generation camaro sl1? Does it really eliminate the shifting for 1st to 4th like it claims? Is it something worth getting for my 98 sl1 camaro? All and any comments welcome.

Get it! Once you install it, you'll wonder why it had never been done before!

actually its LS1 (not SL1) and a company called SLP makes them for your car. SLP is the company GM sent the Z28s to to be converted to an SS.http://www.slponline.com/.....http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=21008

Sorry. I meant ls1 not sl1 my bad. Thanks for the advice. Was it hard to install? Do you install it yourself or someone else?

Re: Skip Shift Kits

You unplug a connector and install it by adding it between the sections you unplugged...

Re: Skip Shift Kits

I got mine from Jegs for about $20. It's not worth that much as far as materials go, but worth much more in terms of elminating that annoying feature.

Re: Skip Shift Kits

Why would you buy eliminator?

I unplugged mine. How will it work without power? I ran with it unplugged for a while then when I did my tune I turned it off.

I mean at the worst unbolt it and pull it out of the trans then block the hole off. No way is that worth 20 dollars.
