Factory alarm bypass possible?

Is there any way to bypass/defeat the factory alarm on a 99 v6 camaro? My sons car keeps stranding him when it licks the ignition down. This happens at least three or four times a week.

Thanks

You can find the key resistance and make a resistor pack to jump out the feature. Or you can take the car or just PCM down to Hawks Third Gen in Easley and they can take VATS completely out of the computer for $50. Google "camaro disable vats" and you should get plenty of links with instructions.

Perfect, That is what I was wanting to hear. I remember a 96 Corvette I owned had the same silly resistor key and it gave trouble as well.

Re: Factory alarm bypass possible?

That resistor stranded me a couple of times, what a POS.
