Question How much would you pay for this Camaro?

I'm thinking of purchasing a 1994 3.4 L v6 Auto Camaro with 254k miles and here are the cons (besides the high mileage):

Fuel tank has some water in it, it may need flushed. (although they claim it hasn't given them any problems)

The Head liner needs replaces, cosmetics, I know, but still needs fixed.

The tires may be old, but this is yet to be determined (it has been sitting)

The battery will need replaced, due to it sitting the cells have gone bad.

They're asking $1250 or best offer.

Due to all these things, I was thinking of offering $700-800 because it'll cost about 350 for all those repairs, and will probably need a tune up and some new tires. But I'm no mechanic and I don't know a terrible lot about fixing cars. I'm afraid of getting burned is all.

The Pro:
Nice interior and exterior, supposedly runs well, and running at at that high of a mileage must mean that it was properly maintained (oil change, air filter, fuel filter, etc.) ~hopefully

So what should I do?

No more than what a scrap car is worth in your area. $300-$400 ??
Motor may be about done @ 250K+ miles.
Needs repairs (which you may re-coop the $$$ when parting out).

Worst case....get the $$$ you paid back when you haul it to the scrap yard.

Re: How much would you pay for this Camaro?

Thanks for the responses guys! I went and checked it out, definitely not worth more than a scrap car. They tried to tell me it had a loose belt! Outrageous, the tranny was totally shot in that thing. I feel bad for anyone who pays more than 300 for that piece!
