Exclamation Recent LT1 Swap unanswered questions.

First I would like to say that I am brand new here and have searched for my problem to no avail. I have a very Problematic 1994 Camaro that I bought for 400 as my first project car. When I bought it, it had a seized v6 so I paid to do the LT1 swap because at the time I lived in the Barracks and simply did not have the means to do it myself. I now have the means to do everything on my own and I have noticed a lot of things that seem like they are just not supposed to be there anymore such as where you originally fill oil from on the v6, as you fill on the v8 directly into the head, a random box in the back left corner that I don't know anything about but might still be needed and a spot where it looked to have hoses or something in it before but are no longer there. Basically what I am asking is what do I need to remove from the car that is no longer needed after doing the v8 swap? If pictures are needed I can post tomorrow.

Re: Recent LT1 Swap unanswered questions.

Also, just a couple of days ago I blew a head gasket to the point where my radiator is filled with sludge and my temp pinned out. should I just replace the radiator completely or attempt a fluid flush after I finish replacing the gasket?

Re: Recent LT1 Swap unanswered questions.

I would try either of these sites- https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/196...-discussion-3/ or https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-modifications-31/

As for the head gasket problem, do you know why did it over heat? How many miles did the LT1 have on it? Were the fans working? I suppose you could try and flush the radiator but it might be more cost effective to just buy a new one.

When the V8 conversion was done, do you know if they used parts from another 4th gen car for the swap or just put it in using the V6 wiring. too many hack shops out there......
