New gen1er surfing!

Have an SS396 clone with a recently restored M20 that is popping out of 4th gear! I feel that the shifter is ok and am looking for help. Can the trouble be in the side cover? Thanks for any help

Re: New gen1er surfing!

Welcome !!!
Don'tcha hate that when they pop outta gear... If it's recently been rebuilt we'll assume the problem isn't with the rebuild for now. A very likely cause is the shift linkage being out of adjustment. First thing we need to know is the make of SHIFTER ITSELF....is it an original Muncie or a Hurst ? They have different adjusting procedures, so....once you get the make of shifter, start a new thread in the transmission section, and we'll all try to help...

Welcome Bill, as Mitch said.....post your question in the Transmission and Driveline forum. Someone can help you out there.

Re: New gen1er surfing!

Welcome. I have the same problem but I know what is wrong with mine it is the rubber shifter boot isn't streaching enuff. So I'm going have a leather one made.
