Smile New '69 SS owner from Europe

Hi to everyone !

Been a member here for...6 years, but this is my first post.

I'm a previous owner of the 4-gen, which I modified during many years, but after seven years of ownership it was time for a change. And month ago I got something, I have been dreaming for a long time, my very own '69 SS. It has 350/350 and 10 bolt with positraction. I bought good one, because restoring such car here would be more expensive, due to high shipping costs. Now it's still plenty of summertime left for cruising and fixing the small things in the process, like new door hinges, some missing lists, non-operating A/C, adding windshield washers and sure, there will be always something to do. But car runs very well, engine, drivetrain, body and interior are in great shape.

Some pics from the day, when it was unloaded from trailer, after 3 months wait while it was shipped from US.

Nice looking car. That center console looks like it will hold 2 six packs.

Everthing looked good until I saw the center console and the steering wheel...but thats just my opinion I like the "original look" but very good find!

Its cheaper to be poor!

Center console is easily removable, it's fixed just with few straps. Have to remove first the cd player inside of it. Also steering wheel will be changed. Pics are made in the day when I got the car, so everything is according the taste of the previous owner. Like said, there are things to do, but it's part of the fun.

What took so long ? Better later than never.

That hurts but good luck with a great looking car. I'm sure that there aren't too many Camaros like that in your area.

At the moment this is the only running 1-gen Camaro in my country, another is being built-up locally. But lots of old US cars are imported, so sure there will be more soon.

To give an idea about local US car scene, here are some pics from recent US car show & drag.

Nice car, the console does kinda stand out a bit much.

I'm sure that was a very exciting day for you. Waiting for it would have drove me nuts.
Don't feel so bad about gas prices, we're hovering around $1.20/Litre during the summer here.

Re: New '69 SS owner from Europe

Man who did you buy it from .... After all the Scams I hear about .. the buyer being from the other side and to have the car shiped to him etc. I see that you are definately a buyer .. Nice Camaro you got there. !! For some reason , I pictured Europe different .

The houses and stuff look like a normal town in the states. I guess I dont get out much .
