First Post Intro

Hi everyone,

My names Jason and I'm the proud new owner of a 67 Firebird 400. Not exactly a Camaro, but seeing as how they share 90% of their parts I've been hunting around researching firebird and camaro information.

I always wanted a first gen f-body. My dad actually had a ratty old 69 Camaro with a six-banger in it back when I was a young teen. but it wasn't soemthing he was into at the time so he sold it off for next to nothing, much to my dismay. So when I found one for the right price over christmas break, i decided to take the plunge.

I'm from southern california, and on a trip to visit my uncle up in the central valley a couple of weeks ago I spied the car while we were out hunting for some 60's chevy truck parts. The car is in pretty much stock condition save for the newly rebuilt 400ci Pontiac motor and T400 trans. Interior isn't too bad and the body needs to be repainted, but not much rust. I'm currently working abroad for the next two months, so I'mt aking this time to do some preliminary research while I pine away after the car that is just sitting at home patiently waiting for my return.

I also own a 1964 Chevy Short-Fleet pickup, a Honda CRX, and a Kawasaki Sportbike at the moment. In the past I've owned a 1966 Mustang, a 1964 Falcon, a late 80's Volvo 240 wagon. Anyway, I like to dabble in automotives in my spare time.

This site looks like a great source of info on these f-bodies, so thanks for all of you for being a part of it and providing a useful resource. I hope I can contribute as well in the future.

Re: First Post Intro

Hey welcome Jason.
I had 64 GMC long Fleetside, all original drive train. Had the 305E v-6. I spent about 6 years wrenching dumping money into it and playing with that beast. Sold it. Bought a 69 Coupe.

Re: First Post Intro

parkbrau,
yeah, the 1964 short fleet replaced the 66 mustang my dad bought when i was about to start driving, becuase i didn't like mustangs at the time. anyway, its been my baby. Pulled the 292 (iirc) out and put in a mild build 350 with a kitted T400 and drove it through high school and part of college. i've tried to sell it a few times, but just can't seem to part with it. now i've got a disk brake swap and some other goodies waiting to go onto it. plus its got a factory a/c cab and i swear i'll get it hooked up someday!
