Installing floor pan

Hello everybody iam restoring a 69 camaro,new at this hope to get some help.Need to weld in a floor pan on the front drivers ,not sure if you cut the hole to fit the new pan, or leave enough metal there to set the pan on and weld.Never done this but am mechanical and have a mig welder.Thanks

You can do it either way but the fitting the pan to the hole is considered the best way.

Welcome.... I was in your shoes a few years ago. I ended up replacing the full floor. I had never done anything like this before either.
