Just another "newbie"

Great site guys...Been a Ford guy all my life and as a tribute to my recently lost brother I'm starting a '68 Camaro project. Pro-Tourning full frame, LS motor, tasteful nods to the originals. Should be some fun no matter the reason for my new found dedication to a Chevy. Anyone want to buy a Kirkham Cobra FE 482? Just kidding I'm keeping the beast.....

Thanks again...great site...

Mike

Re: Just another "newbie"

Capt

You are correct...Its not like I was never a Chevy guy, had several, mostly trucks. My brother and I always had this Chevy vs Ford thing going on since highschool when he had a 396 he put in a '70 Camaro and I had a '67 GTA Mustang upgraded with a 428. Sorry but the Mustang won all of those contests. I spent most of my time recently building pre-40 cars, but since his loss I thought the best way to honor his memory was to build what he never got around to.... Sure I will enjoy the build no matter the make, but when finished it should be something he would be proud of also..... Just collecting info for the most part in the next couple of months then I'll jump right in....I've found lots of info on ths site so far and to say the least you can build a Camaro with nothing to start with at all. Thanks again for the welcome...appreciate the kind words....

Re: Just another "newbie"

Keep us posted on your quest. There's still a few barn finds and basket cases out there, but are increasing difficult to find. And if you can do most of the work, like it sounds you can, starting out isn't bad. I'm sure in the long run your brother will be proud of your efforts.
