Greetings! Just joined the group a couple days ago and can not believe how drawn in I am already! I don't think I've turned away from the computer since I've joined! Lot's of good stuff here.
I work for a defense contractor in sunny Phoenix, AZ. Fairly new to the hobby...bought a Z/28 Clone off Ebay 4 years ago and have been lovin' it ever since! Great site!

Re: New member

Nice set up! How do you like the Willwood breaks on there? I've been lookin' at doing a disc set up and I had a Bear setup on an older car and nothing but problems with them, so looking for a better solution...

Re: New member

Hey Steve

I have had the Wilwoods on since last October...so far so good. Big improvement in my ability to stop the car and they look cool plus the benifits of some weight reduction. The only issue I had was a dragging brake problem but quickly figured out (by searching on this site by the way) that the rod between the master cylinder and the booster was too long (too long by about 3/32"). I did not buy their master cylinder, adjustable prop valve or booster because I wanted more of a stock "chrome/stainless steel look"

I looked into the BAER brake option as well as SSBC system and found that Wilwood was the best bang for the buck plus no mods to spindles or axle tubes etc. If I had to go back to stock it's all bolt on stuff. OK I lied a bit I had to weld on tabs on the rear axle tube to accomodate the rear brake lines...but that is it.

I do not mean to knock down BAER or SSBC in anyway since I have no experience with them but Wilwood met most of my needs...did I say they look cool

Cheers...
