69 trunk rod (optional for spoiler)

Hey everyone reading. I'm a virgin to the site. Just traded a Porsche for a 69 Yenko (clone...but NICE) so I'm re-living my youth. First (real) car was a 69 SS/RS, so I'm back at it. I've just spent $1,200 on "stuff" and one of the items is a rear deck lid (extra) tension rod cuz of the spoiler. Ricks First Gen. didn't have any tech. on it's installation, but the guy touted this site as the place to get the answers...so...any help? As I get to know how to navigate better on this site, I'll throw on some pix, and who know's...maybe I'll be able to help someone down the road. Thanks in advance....Fran the Man!

Re: 69 trunk rod (optional for spoiler)

All trunk lids had 2 rods. On decklids without the spoiler both rods were the same diameter. On decklids with rear spoiler one rods was slightly larger in diameter than the other.

Notice the upper rod is thicker in the first pic.

I took a piece of 1/4 X 1 X 9 inches and cut a slot in it to pry the rods from one position to the other....
