Finally introduce myself...
Been a lurker on here for quite some time and finally decided to go ahead and register and throw a "2 cents" in here and there. I have been an "F" body enthusiast for most of my life. My very first car was a 6 cyl 67 Camaro that went through many different stages and ended up being a fully caged corner pounder. I've had 3 other '67s including the current project, 3 '70s (2 plain janes and one Z), 2 '71s (both RS), 1 '74 and even a couple 89 IROCs. I build engines, trannies and cars for friends/family and some customers as a hobby since I got out of being an automotive technician as my primary career (did that for 12 years). I have indeed tried each and every dumb idea out there and a few good ones and my true love in life (besides my wife) is figuring out ways to increase my carbon signature!
Currently putting back together a 67 RS (came with 327 and a glide, power windows, A/C, Power Steering, 4 Piston Disc Brakes, Factory Tint, Deluxe Bench, Deluxe Interior, Tilt...) that was wrecked in 1973 with 42K miles and has not seen the road since. It spent 20 years sitting under a tarp in the back lot of a friend's wrecking yard until I discovered it. I begged and pleaded and got the car. They had sold the original 327 and powerglide out of it, but other than that is was complete (mostly, rally wheels and the disc brake knuckles were missing too, I got the original brakes and knuckles back from the guy who had planned them for his Nova project.... sjeesh). Just finished building a stroked 454 to 496 with 12.5:1 CR, mech roller, tall runner aluminum heads with shaft rocker system, pretty much the works (at least as much of the works my measly budget can swing). Also just finished an all billet shaft TH400 to go behind it. Body is put back together from the wreck and its straight as an arrow. Only about 10 million more hours to go!
