wiring for 1969 z28

I am in the process of restoring my 69 z28 and at this point I.m doing the dash and all wiring the problem I'm having are two wires that are under the dash they are purple with a white stripe and a purple wire 10g or 12g in size /// any idea what they are for ??? my car has no console, am radio center fuel gauge and, tach anyone out there have any ideas ???

Welcome to TC Victor!

What you described are the wires for either a clutch safety switch (for an original 69 manual transmission car) or a neutral safety switch (for an original automatic transmission car). They should be in a connector together, and they plug into the clutch safety switch mounted on the driver side of the pedal bracket, above the clutch pedal.

If you don't have the switch mounted, there are pics here of mine I can direct you to.
