New Member with 68 L30/M20 Convertible

After many years of visiting the TC site as a guest I finally decided to sign up. I'm currently restoring a 1968 Camaro convertible with the following options:
L30 327/275 HP
M20 wide ratio 4-speed
Z87 Custom Interior
N34 Sport steering wheel
D55 center console
U17 console gauges and Tic-Toc-Tac
F41 "special performance" suspension
G80 12 bolt positraction rear end
N10 dual exhaust
Z21 Style Trim Group
ZJ9 Auxiliary Lighting

My father special ordered the car and drove it until 1974, when it was put into storage with about 160k on the clock. I fixed it up a little and drove it in high school, then put it away again until a more thorough restoration was started back in 1994. It's been slow going so far mostly due to the car being stuck at a body shop that kept putting off working on the car. The car is now at a new shop and things are happening at a good pace. I hope to have the car completed within the next year or so.

Here are some pictures:

The day my father took delivery of the car (July 6, 1968):

Re: New Member with 68 L30/M20 Convertible

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. The history of the car has really hit me lately. After being born, I was brought home from the hospital in this car. My father is now 83 years old, and he has expressed his desire to see the car completed. We are both glad to be back on track with this project. We talk almost daily about it.

I still have the hitch and the trailer wiring! My father used to tow a pop-up camper and his old wooden Tomahawk boat with it.

Here is the hitch:

I'm not sure right now what I'm going to do about pictures. The majority of the mechanical restoration work was done back before I had a digital camera, and almost all of my restored parts have now been packed and are at the restoration shop. The shop is supposed to be taking digital progress pictures of the body restoration. I'm not sure which area of the forum would be best for posting progress pictures - any suggestions?

Here are a few recent picstures.
Car at the shop with my Mom & Dad:

Grille assembly (all NOS parts except upper & lower moldings):

Gauge cluster:

Console:

Here's a picture from "back in the day" when I was about 17 and driving the car regularly:

Yes indeed! My parents live in York Harbor. Nothing better than cruising Long Sands Beach in a Camaro convertible!
