New from San Diego

Hey guys,
Just wanted to say hi! I am a soon to be Camaro owner, so I thought I'd get on here and meet my idols. I am going to be buying a 69 coupe (preferably RS) in the very near future. I am trying to find a good car that runs ok but also needs some TLC, so it can be a little project for my dad and me.

I was also hoping to get some opinions on a couple of things:
-Do you think its worth it to try to find an RS or just convert it myself?
-Any tips for warnings before buying the camaro?

Thanks!

Re: New from San Diego

Welcome, you came to the rightplace for knowlegde and advice. The RS wil be more expensive, but if you get a standard car, you can convert to RS option with a complete kit from any Camaro vendor. Costs range form 1000 to 1500 dollars for the kit. If you are not really familiar with Camaros find someone to take with you who does know about them. Not all Camaro sellers are honest about the cars or the overall condition they are in such as rust or damage or mechanicals. Ask as many questions as possible. Take pics of the car and everything you can. Post them here and most of the guys here are well seasoned at the looking at the cars and can tell you what you need to know. Good luck...
