New Los Angeles guy

Hi All,

I am a lifetime car nut and have spent the better part of my life restoring European sports cars, primarily late 60s early 70s porsches. I have always wanted a camaro convertible and am sick of having to track parts down in Germany. The fact that I can pick up a catalogue and get any part that I need is amazing to me! I have begun my hunt for a reasonable restoration candidate and am slowly learning the ropes. I have long been a member of several other car forums and have found them to be invaluable. I hope I get the same thing here. I have been on for a day and aldready received some really helpful info.

I'm looking for a 67 convertible. Not afraid of basket cases. I have a kick *** set of tools... (joke) feel free to send me any tips as I am on the bottom of the learning curve when it comes to Camaros.

I'm looking forward to the journey.

Here's some of my work:

Welcome to team Camaro. LOL, note that although you can get any part you need, it probably won't fit.

Mike - '68 Camaro - aftermarket or modern pretty much everything.

Re: New Los Angeles guy

Welcome. LA is a great place to find project cars. Mine took a few years, but I wanted something I could drive and then upgrade as time would allow. In the mean time I saw a lot of nice project cars, they are out there.

Re: New Los Angeles guy

Welcome to the forum! I recently buiilt a 68 Camaro and you are right, the amount of aftermarket parts from companys such as Classic Industries makes restoring a car a heck of alot easier.

Re: New Los Angeles guy

Keep everything. You might be able to restore the original parts. The rest you can get from the aftermarket shops. Take lots of pictures before starting. It may not seem relevant at the start but will be invaluable during reassembly.
