Newbie from Central Illinois

My name is Chris, I have been in the parts business for 28 years, now Parts Director at a very large dealership in Urbana. I have always been a F-Body guy, got my first Camaro back in 1986, it was a 68 SS. Since then I have owned a 68 Camaro 327 4-speed, 79 Camaro RS 4-speed, 85 Z/28 5-speed, 79 Silver Anniversary Trans Am automatic, 68 Camaro RS Pro-Street, 67 Camaro RS Pro-Street, 67 Firebird 326HO. My latest buy is a 79 Camaro Z/28, its has a transplanted ZZ4 crate motor, all the factory A/C components hooked up, 4-speed cloase ratio Super T-10 and a 12 bolt posi with 3:73 gears out of a 71 Camaro. The interior is all redone from dash to rear tray. I havent had a manual trans car for awhile so she's solves a little mid-life crisis issue!

Re: Newbie from Central Illinois

Thanks guys, here are some pics off all my toys in the past including the 84 Z/28 I forgot to list but it was a drag car, 468 big block running on alcohol, glide, Dana 60 rear axle. It was a square tube chassis that ran 6.40's all day in the 1/8th mile

My first Camaro and my only wife which I still have

The 79 RS 4-speed

68 327 4-speed, I owned this car for 10 years, if I could find her I would buy her back in a heartbeat!

79 Silver Anniversary T/A

68 Camaro RS Prostreet, 383 stroker, 400 turbo and a shortened 12 bolt

67 Camaro RS Prostreet, 468 big block, turbo 400 and a shortened Ford 9 inch

67 Firebird 326HO, automatic with A/C, this was a true 57,000 mile survivor car that had all its original interior all the way down to the carpet. It had 1 repaint 20 years ago and the scooped hood was added at that time. Nice car, a little to nice for me...

As you can see, F-bodies are something I love, had a few Chevelles and even a nasty big block Mustang at one time but I always end back up in a Camaro. Love the forum guys, look forward to spending some time on here.
