Welcome, PA. VIN does not tell anything about engine size like the later model years do.
Except, 12X on the vin, the X, tells the engine configuration, 3 = L6, 4 = V8.
On the pass side of the deck on the block, under the alternator, stamped on a 1/2 inch wide pad, are characters. The first group to the left, would match the last digits of the VIN. The right side group would tell the place of manufacture, date manf, and letters denoting CID.
Take a picture and post here, or a link to the picture, of the stamp and others will decode. Also, the VIN would be stamped on the block in the rough casting on the edge of the block above the oil filter boss just in front of the bellhousing.
