Re: Best heads

That is going to depend on how you want to use the car, which transmsiion, what rearend, what has been done to your engine. etc. Gonna need more info.

Experience...... It's what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.

Re: Best heads

I don't know much about the motor besides it was in a truck, it is basically all stock motor. As far as my car I got a brand new turbo 400 tranny and a 10 bolt rear. I'm looking to to get about 350 hp out of the motor.

Re: Best heads

As far as old school stock heads, casting numbers ending with 186 are good as well as 291's.
Edelbrock E-tech alum are good for the street and reasonably affordable.
A good Vortec upper end is nice.

Re: Best heads

200 cc heads too big for the street. 180 is better. You need to figure out what kind of cam you have in the engine. You need to figure out what engine you have. What kind of truck was engine in? What year? You can't know where you are going until you figure out where you are. Slow down. Get the numbers off the engine. Does the engine run? Pull a valve cover and give us the casting number of the head.
