Hello From Illinois
Hi, my name is Jim and I'm a Camaroholic! I just purchased a 69 coupe with the original engine (build 327) and T350 trans.
This is not my first Camaro. My first Camaro experience was also my first driving experience, my dad's '68 Lehmans Blue RS. I wish I had that car!!! In '79 I purchased a new red and black RS (350 4spd) and with the help of a friend we did some engine work on the car. Now life has come full circle as I am back to a first gen Camaro.
The car I just purchased is set up for both the street and strip but I doubt it will ever see the strip again as my wife and I want it for cruising. Over all she's in pretty good shape for a gal of 42 years (the car, my wife is a little older, but in good shape too). The previous owners had done a restro replacing a lot of the sheet metal about 15 years ago. The engine has been put together with performance parts and roars like a TRex on the hunt (Flow Masters with turn downs in front of the rear axle are L O U D!) when you step on the skinny peddle.
I am happy to be back behind the wheel of a vintage Camaro and to be part of this online family. I plan to make some changes and will be asking for your input and guidance.
