Noob from NOLA

Been lurking for quite awhile, so I figured it was time to post now that I'm an actual owner. Bought a 69 roller with all fresh metal for a good start. Have to wait until after my son's wedding to get going. Here are a few pics.

Welcome to TC. Always good to have a Yat in da house. You do have a good start. Once you get the work on it going, keep us updated.

Hey Sammy, welcome - looks like a good project there, especially with all the hard bodywork behind you! Do I detect a clue to what you have planned for the engine from your screen ID ?

Re: Noob from NOLA

Nice project! Perfect starting point. Rolling the rear quarter panel wheelwell lips and mini-tubs would be on my short list. Might want to add a set of weld-in subframe connectors at this point too. If you want to replace the seats, now's a great time to get those squared away as well, front and rear. Congrats to your son and welcome.

Re: Noob from NOLA

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
I am considering an LS setup (for the right price), but also have a ZZ crate motor in mind.
I actually passed on a mini-tubbed roller for this one for what I want to do with it. The car came with many parts, including most of a new interior (seats, carpet, headliner, door panels, etc.).
Son's wedding isn't until Oct. 2012, so I'll have to wait a little bit before I can really get on it. First order of business will be to get the finishing bodywork and paint done.
I'm sure I'll have questions and recommendations to ask as I go, so please be patient ! LOL

Sammy welcome to the TC site and it looks like the car will be a long term build. Take your time and do it right, best of luck with the build.

Re: Noob from NOLA

Well it's been a while, but my car is coming along slowly but surely. Here are some new pics. Just finishing up body & paint, and getting ready to begin assembly. Going to go with the GM LS3 Connect & Cruise package for the drivetrain.

Got to love a roller with clean straight lines already. What are your plans for her?
