I sold my '67 Camaro RS- clone to Freedom Christian and they raffled it off this past July. The person who won it did not want/ or did not realize he would pay taxes and have to declare it as income. While this was going on I bought a 94 Vette. The guy who won it does not want it so I have been given the opportunity to buy back my '67. Family all agrees I need my 67 back. Ok, so now I need to sell my 94 Vette. Wife is gracious but NOT that gracious to let me have both.

Re: back to my 67

I picked up my 67 tonight. Other than basic maintenance - oil change, grease job, cleaning , waxing and new plugs it is good to go

Re: back to my 67

Another happy ending.
Just curious, what value did the state put on the vehicle for property taxes that the winner could not afford to pay?
Here they use blue book value, so its wicked cheap compared to a new vehicle property taxes.
MI must do something different then New England states do. Even a sales tax amount of this car would not wrinkle anyone's forehead based on our Mill rate and established value of a 40 something vehicle.

Re: back to my 67

69 Pace- Can't tell you property tax. I do know that you would pay sales tax and I am again assuming it is on the appraised value ($26,000) rather than the price of a raffle ticket($50.00) You would also fill out a w2 and have this put onto your income for tax purposes. I am assuming the w2 is because freedom Christian ia a non- profit organization? I don't have to do this because it is a simply business transaction.

Re: back to my 67

68Lemans blue- LOL! I have already thought of that and she has mentioned it to me. I am sure about the time I keep both carss in the garage and her mini van sits out she will remind me of my promise of sell the Vette. Although I must admit she has been wanting to drive the Vette more lately. It has more comfort and manners supposedly than the 67. Seems the lack of air , and a rougher ride in the Camaro are unsettling to her. Imagine that!
