New guy from Utah

Hi all im Jeff, I have looked at posts here time to time for info and deciced to go ahead and join, I have a 68 Camaro project I have threw in the corner for a few years while getting distracted in life. I pulled the covers and blankets off with a few inches of dust from the nap. I forgot how cool it looked and figured it was time to finish it up so I will post a few pics for all to check out. I originally purchased the car to build a pro-touring of sorts but decided to keep it old school. A few various pics

This is where I left off.. time to fix the floor and start fitting things again..

Re: New guy from Utah

Thank You, Glad to be here and even more excited to get back to work on my car, I made a parts order so I can get the engine installed but im going to weld up the hole and do body work on the underside of the tunnel first, seems every 4 speed car I have ever owned has had the same tunnel mod.. My next stage after the floor is to get the engine trans back in the car also I need to get the 12bolt back togeather the car had been a bracket car and someone put 488's in a bit steep for me... Im going to install 373's, a couple more pics this is how the car sits today except the trunk lid is back on.

488's out! I think these are 1969 GM gears if im correct.

Welcome to TC

Good looking project...and as said another 68

But I have to point out the Stinger hood hasn't been approved and since you're new I will let that slide but still have to commandeer it from your car...............

Welcome, jeff.
As said, correct year She looks good, even with the stinger hood.
Yes, GM 4.88 gears, did you measure the backlash before removing?

I did not, I just took it apart. I rebuilt the 4 series carrier then ended up selling that after I found a set of 3:73's and a 3 series carrier. By the rear end code it had 4:10's originally but decided the 3:73's will be just fine for me.
