New 1968 owner in Atlanta

Just traded for a local all metal 1968 Sport Coupe. Its still in primer and I just did a saftey check on it last night, lights bleed brakes ect. & took it ou to its maiden voyage to our local Caffine & Octane show this morning.

There were 1000+ cars there by 830 and I was about to turn around but I decided to cruise through even though the adjacent lots were full too.
There was a Lambo & a M6 in front, then this guy with the mopar group move some stuff & makes a spot for me. Nice.

I couldnt believe the attention this car got in its as found condition. I was stunned. It was 75 to 25 to leave it as is.

The car was an original Lemans Blue base 6 cylinder, manual everything.

It has the woodgrain dash center and headrests. Now has a warmed over 350 / th 350 & a 12 bolt. Ran cool and after a few hours I went home via the highway & stayed cool in the 90 degree day.

Now onto the projucts that have to be done, weather stripping is gone everywhere and that is job 1.

I have been blessed with some nice rides but his thing brought the fun back to cruising.

Re: New 1968 owner in Atlanta

Thanks for the warm welcome, here are some bad cell phone pics, Ill post more as I complete the nut & bolt. Neet to bring it by the local police for a VIN check before I can register it, Georgia will not let you transfer title unless the prior owner had registered it?!?

What part of Atlanta? I'm up in Cherokee County, just getting started on a full re-do on a '69. Welcome to the club.

Re: New 1968 owner in Atlanta

Well hello neighbor,

I'm up the road from you in Braselton. Missed the swap meet this weekend. Did you buy the 68 Camaro that the guy from NC was selling and was bringing to the swap meet? It looked similar to one that was being sold.

By the way, there is a car show at Year One next Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm. The last one was pretty well attended. It's $5.00 to enter your car. I hope to be there.

Rick
