New Guy, building a 69 for the wife

Hello,

I'm a long time Ford guy, bear with me for a minute. I've had some very fast street and track Mustangs over the years. Now, my current ride is a 99 Cobra 32V N/A street/open track car that produces 424rwhp at 7K and has a very dialed in suspension, brake, and chassis. It's fast enough in the turns to keep up with a few gutted race only BMW's. It's pretty cool and I do all my own work sans engine machining. I've done my own work since I was a kid working with the G'pa who taught me the tricks.

Fast forward, my wife who had a 440 Challenger before we met and used to drag race it, inherited her mom's 69 Camaro almost 2 years ago. It's just a plain ole' 69, 307ci 3 speed someone has swapped in a M21 trans at some point and 327 badges on the fenders. The rest of the story will find it's home in the appropriate forum! Thanks for reading.

Welocome!
I have an '89 5 liter ragtop I have owned for 20 years, 248k on the odometer and more of those were a 1/4 mile at a time than I can count. All fast cars are cool regardless of who made them originally!

But for the record my Camaro blows the doors off my old Mustang...

Re: New Guy, building a 69 for the wife

Thanks for the welcome everyone. The 307ci is pretty anemic, especially with 3.08 gears. My wife said it needs to be faster.
