New from tampa florida

Hello everyone, im extremely excited to have finally become a member of this forum and community. i have spent a lot of time scrolling and searching through thresds for information and ideas and am more than happy to finally have the opportunity to ask questions and share my experiences with my 69 camaro. i am brand new to the muscle car genre but it took me more than a year of careful thinking and planning to finally narrow my car choices down to my own peice of American History.

Re: New from tampa florida

i live in riverview. i bought my car last year in early april from a place called "rose motorsports" in ft. myers fl. its hugger orange with white stripes, has a 454, for 9", 400r tranny. as soon as i had the car car delivered it over heated on me on the way back from the gas station and kept doing it. so since then i have torn it down and replaced tons of parts here and there inside and out. i am totaly new to the classic car scene but have always loved the atmosphere of it all. i am hoping to find people around my area that own there own classics and especially know how to do some work on them. i am a newbie to all the "tricks" that come along with experience when dealing with classic cars but i am totatly mechanically inclined. so bottom line is that i'm ready to start turning wrenches, cruising and loving the life that comes along with owning a car like mine.

Re: New from tampa florida

im in bradenton and just bought a 1984 for 800$. had to buy a new starter and battery but whatever he did to it.....my cousin told me that the tranny is modified to do 0-120 in like 10 seconds tops. kind of scary since im used to sluggish vehicles (had a couple buicks and a 79 chevy CD).

sweet car but it has so much power. guy threw a 350 v8 in it with dual headers naturally....but didnt know his son stuck a brand new edelbrock on it until he signed the title over and i paid the $. nonetheless when i hit second gear (automatic) the *** jumps and it takes off. since you are from tampa you know what florida city speed limits are and so i just cruise.

but when i hit the gas from a stoplight i burn rubber. the guy was nice enough to leave the indy 500's and american racing rims on it.....im the envy at all of IHOP. haha.

Re: New from tampa florida

WOW....... it is great to see a few guys from Tampa/Orlando/Sarasota area. We are currently located east of Tampa about 8 minutes north of the Gator Ford (exit 10) on I-4.

We are moving to a much larger building that is visible from I-4 just east of Gator Ford....

Once we are up and running in the new place we plan to have a "open house". In the meantime I personally would love to meet anyone that is in the area or is down in Sunny Florida on vacation.

We will be doing alot on Facebook as the move to the new shop takes place....... take a look at our Facebook page:
