Welcome Joe...

Try on top of the gas tank first.
Sometimes the broadcast sheets were stuffed into seat springs, under the dash, under carpet, inside the headliner....
Good luck!

Re: info please

If you find it, and it's readable, preserve it somehow so that it doesn't fall apart. Then scan it and post a pic of it here.

Do you have pics of the car yet? Create yourself a Flickr account and put the pictures there. It'll be easier to post them here and not run our of allowable space.

G'day Joe.
Blacked-out tail pan was applicable to 1st Gen SS 396 only. The exception was if the car had a black exterior.

Re: info please

Get yourself some good resource reading material...some manuals and such.

Cruise the archives as well, as there's lots of great background info there as well, eh?

Re: info please

Welcome to Team Camaro!

What you might want to do is post what the trim tag on the firewall says in the "Tag Team" area. More than a few of us can decode what your car came with.

Or, if you want to try for yourself then check here: http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#67Codes

And, if it's a true RS/SS (or SS/RS - we all disagree as to which is more correct) then the CRG (Camaro Research Group - several members here are a part of that) might be interested in what your car came with so they can add it to their list, especially if it's real a big block car.
