New 69 Camaro Owner from North Dakota

Hi Everyone,

I'm Charlie. I've been lurking around this site for awhile now taking in all of the great information. I finally got a 69 of my own, so I decided to join the site.

Little info about me: I'm 30 years old. My background is in mechanical engineering and I enjoy racing, so I like getting into the technical "stuff" that makes cars quick.

The car is a mostly original 69 that had been stored by the original owner since 1975. It has about 26,000 miles. There is some body damage from both before and during storage. The before-storage damage had been fixed, but not that well. However, the car is un-hacked and rust-free.

I plan to go the Pro-Touring route with this car (LS engine, suspension upgrades, big brakes, 5 or 6 speed manual trans). My inner engineer has a few other things he would like to try as well. Who knows how long it will take to accomplish all of this, but at least it is a fun car to cruise around with in the meantime.

I look forward to getting to know others and being more involved on the site!

Welcome Charlie, I like the sound of your plan for the car! Are you staying with Daytona Yellow? Look forward to following your build thread

Re: New 69 Camaro Owner from North Dakota

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Not sure about the Daytona Yellow. Wouldn't have been my original color of choice, but it is starting to grow on me. I am kind of starting to like the idea of a car with modern technology and a more original/retro looking paint scheme. Kind of a sleeper look with the exception of the wheels.
