My name is Jay. I just sold my 70 Chevelle and moved to a sweet little 68 Camaro I bought locally here in Denver.
I knew my Chevelle very well and now I need to learn my Camaro, and especially the 427 engine. The Chevelle is a 454 with .030 pistons.
Unfortunately the seller could not give me all of the details on the engine build. I am trying to get them anyway I can right now. Just bought the car last Saturday for a steal. 60 year old guy bought it for his 36 year old gf and she couldn't handle it so he gave it away.
Anyway, I am trying to learn all that I can about the block and the engine. I'm told it has a TH400, but I can't tell by looking at it and the Chevelle has a TH350. The Camaro also has a Ford 9" and I do know what that looks like.
It's a fairly recent full restoration. When I buy a car I like to know as much as possible about the car, so this wasn't quite what I look for when it comes to information, but it was cosmetically so damn nice I couldn't pass for the price. Also has stuff like a Ron Davis radiator.
I did get a look at it up on a rack so I inspected every inch of it, which helped me a lot. It's not perfect, but that's almost impossible to find unless you build one yourself exactly the way you want one.
I am excited to learn from all of the Camaro experts here.
