Hey Joe welcome aboard. Post some pictures of your project and what the plans are for her - restoration, restro-mod, etc and I'm sure whatever your questions are you will get answers.

Joe, thank you for your service to our country. And yes, you can get reproduction items for just about everything for these cars. But without documentation the '68 model year is hard to determine whether it is a real 'SS'.

Re: New Guy

Joe you should add a "signature" file here on TC that has the link to your site and the details of the ride.

As to repro-documentation well that is a question that is bound to raise a heated thread here on TC. Some folks here will argue that reproduction documentation is a license to fake up credentials of a vehicle while a man of honor may just wish to document the vehicle as it was before during and after restoration.

Reproduction owners manuals and other assorted GM documentation is available at all the major on-line vendors. If your vehicle was delivered to GM Canada all the original documentation is still available from GM Canada. Other then those lucky folks you are in the gray area. A Google search will produce vendors who recreate on demand the items you seek based on the specs you supply.

Re: New Guy

Thanks for the info I am not trying to fake a thing_ I even had the 68 396 block coded MX 4- speed documented along with the heads.I just dont have a protecto plate.I figured you could get one even if it said repro thats fine. Oh well. I have a local Chevy dealer helping with window sticker and build sheet repro.

Joe, Welcome to team Camaro.
at the top of the page you'll find a tab "user CP" or user Control Panel. Click on that tab and scroll down until you find "edit signature".

You can add a signature, change font size, preview how it will look and add links to photos, etc.
