Hello from Corona, California

Hi All,

New here, been soaking up info for a while, looking for a 67-69 for a family project, got a lead so posting up.

Not new to Chevy's, own more than my share, currently posting on Team Chevelle in the wagon section doing a frame replacement and major upgrade on a 70 Concours (Chevelle) wagon. Have worked on lots of A-bodies, a second gen F-body, and a 71 Corvette coupe.

Currently looking into a 68 Camaro coupe right now, rough car, so will post in other appropriate sections as I get info and pics.

Thank you for such a great, informative site.

Re: Hello from Corona, California

Thank you for the welcoming.

My favorite, originally purchased by my mom and dad. Been all through this car, and all over the place in it. High school, college, career, it is what got me into being who I am...

The wagon I am working on currently

OK to link a thread from Team Chevelle here?

Will post the few pics I have of the Camaro tonight, car is pretty well entrenched so was hard to get many pics. Has potential, has flaws...

Don't they all?!?

Best regards,
Tom

Cool Re: Hello from Corona, California

Rides

I've always had a soft spot (besides the one on my head Zuma ) for '70 A-bodies
Had a 70 El Camino SS-396 (402) that I ordered before I knew the 454 was going to be the top 'kick-ars' option ... no problem, I was only going to tow a drag boat with it, and the L78 was plenty of 'tow-power'
I really liked that 4 headlight look vs. the later 2 'staring-eyes' on the 71's up.
That thing was a brute - even with the rear full of tools and spares and a 18-6 Biesemeyer tagging along
Traded it off for a 72 LS3 , which quickly got traded for a 73 4X4 pickup ...

Little bit of Mel Gibson going for the MC

Re: Hello from Corona, California

Welcome Tom. You can link to Team Chevelle all you want. We're all on the same Team.

I was going to say the same thing about the Monte... but then his name IS Roadwarrior.

I had one (pale yellow) back in 1980\81 but it's a sad, sad story. Back in the days when crushing a car like this for cash wasn't a big deal. My life is full of regret!

Love the wagon.

Back in the day these were just cars, any that we have saved are the lucky ones.

I got my car hobby start with Montes, have this 71 (first one), a 72, and a 70 402 car. Last 2, first was going to the crusher in 85, second was a gift from a friend. Got a 70 El Camino for parts form the Montes, was too nice to part, so now I dribe it too. Was a Custom 400 (402) gauge car, still has the guages and 12 bolt posi, 402 is long gone. DO have a 402 to put into it, but it runs well now with the 350, and I don't need to open up another project.

Which is why I'm looking at a Camaro, right?

Best,
Tom
