Another Washingtonian

Hey guys, the name is Zack and I have recently acquired my dream car!

I picked up a 1967 Camaro for a great price in the shape that it is in.

Knowing very little about how to decode the car I was under the impression that the car was an original RS car but after much deciphering of the trim tag it turns out it wasnt. Still a great car for the price I paid anyway here is a few pictures. I look forward to learning a lot about this car from you guys on the forum.

Nice car! Welcome to the site, you'll enjoy it, tons of info on just about everything!

I'm right over on in the Snohomish area myself, there are a few Washingtonians on here.

Welcome, Zack
Nice Camaro and congrats on the buy, enjoy it.

You can define the Trim Tag over at www.camaros.org to get an idea of the original configuration.

Nice Camaro. Always a good feeling being at the right place at the right time.

Re: Another Washingtonian

Thanks for the suggestion!

I've actually done most of my research over there. I do like the Camaro reports section and the references they list. Just seems like its been vacant for a while on the threads.

Greetings Zack!
That's right, I'm just outside of Tacoma in Lakewood by the big bases. I have pal Mark in Spanaway with a 68 Z-28. I put color on my POS next week

Tell me more about the car...sure is good-looking!
Can't wait to drive mine again

Oh Awesome! nice to hear that there are guys close. I actually grew up in the Tacoma area from Gravely lake drive to 132nd & Pac Ave to 22nd & military.

Well hopefully soon there will be some decent weather for cruising/meets.

Swell time in Iraq. Retired Spg 2006. Wifey well-established in a good job so we stayed, never discussed resettling.

Re: Another Washingtonian

Thanks guys!

other than the minor body work, paint, and general TLC I dont plan on much.

However, in a few years I would like to consider maybe a T5 swap and re-gearing the rear with a posi unit. Guess I better get to research on it.

Only thing is I dont want to do anything too dramatic because I would like to be able to restore it to its original state in the future for whatever reason may come up.

Re: Another Washingtonian

Here is a quick write up on the car and its current state by the way

Here is what it was from the factory;
327 w/power glide
2.73 gearing in the rear
Exterior was white with the green/blue interior
Decor Inerior (Deluxe interior with armrests molded into the door panels and extra chrome aka "bling")
Bench seat
Deluxe exterior (all the crome molding around wheel wells and along lower edge of the door)

How it exists today;
green/blue exterior color
full rs package (rs grille and badging)
ss hood (assuming from a 68)
bucket seats
center console (looks to be originally black but painted to match interior)
center console gauges (clock, fuel, engine temp, oil pressure)
motor rebuilt less 10 or so years ago w/ under 5k miles (still need to decipher the pile of receipts that came with car)
same trans and rear axle
and one stogie I found under the seat

What needs immediate attention;
Some through holes in the floor pan behind the driver seat
RS grill doors dont open with headlight switched on
Minor cancer in the rear passenger quarter panel
fuel guage dosent work, I think the sender unit is bad
Reverse lock out mechanism is broken

Re: Another Washingtonian

The hood is for or from a 67 SS. Nice looking car.
