Welcome to Team CAMARO

Sounds like many builds involving a 30+ year old vehicle.
Just take your time, ask lots of questions when issues arise (or before you cause one ) and keep your son engaged when project progress and problems dull his "stoked" feelings.

The guys on this forum are a knowledgable and great group - they'll be glad to help with info if asked!

Have family in the Georgetown and Florence areas.
Visit every few months.

Looking forward to pictures also

Welcome to the Club, Mike.
Correct year and you've been gigged for pictures, regardless of the condition.

Take pictures and make notes for future reference.

Re: New Guy in Texas

We plan on resto mod
kids high school cruiser
all blacked out chrome
color to be decided later

cool is the rule

i'm thinking restricter plate and rev limiter, haha

If the kid decides on something else maybe big block and 4 speed (for dad)

long way to go yet
missing lots of parts
quarter panels and trunk floor first
all front clip is at the blasters

Wink Re: New Guy in Texas

Looks like you have a good base for your build

Hopefully they are using 'media' vs. sand for the blasting
These old things don't take kindly to the impact and heat sand can cause ...

There's lots of lower buck upgrades you can do to the brakes, suspension and driveline for a nice cruising vehicle vs. going to expensive 'kits'
Before you spend on these type of parts be sure to run your build goals by the guys on this forum for input

Now if you're building a high dollar curve carver spend away
