Newbie looking to buy first camaro

Hi there,

I'm Will, a third year undergraduate in CA originally from Oregon. My dad and I are looking to buy a drivable 1969 camaro for 15-20k to work on this summer. Anyone have any tips as far as what I'd be able to get/what to look for in this price range and in the pacific NW area?

Thanks!

Re: Newbie looking to buy first camaro

just take your time and get the best one you can find with that budget you should be able to find a pretty good one if i was spending that much for a 69 i would expect it to be completly rust free unless its a super rare car or z28 etc. for a daily driver 69 15-20 grand should get you a nice one that just needs your final touches to make it yours .

Welcome, Will. Congrats on the education.
Good advice given and check the usual places.
Be leasry of all ads. Go see it in person before handing over the cash.
Good luck with the search.

Patience is the key.

Re: Newbie looking to buy first camaro

E-bay is a pretty good place to look, just be really careful no matter where you buy. Like Everett said definitely go look at in person before you buy anything. I just learned that that hard way, if you find one and its not close to you, ask if anyone on here is in the area and see if they would be willing to check it out for you for a second opinion, or since it'll be drivable take it to a shop and have it looked at. I'm sure someone would be happy to. Good luck with you search!

I bought a solid driver with minimal rust in the cowl for 15k. I think there are plenty of them out there. Welcome and good luck.
