The long road has begun

Hello All, I'm beginning a first time project on a 67 Camaro and will be on here bugging the other members for info as I rip my hair out, throw wrenches, and cuss at this car.

Re: The long road has begun

Quite a project you have there Scott! Check out the build forums, there are lots of great guys doing very in depth builds that you can glean information from. I encourage you to start your own so that we can follow along too!

You're definitely going to need a jig of some sort to get you started. Check out First Gen Jigs. I and many others on here have used that particular jig and it works very well. That will at least get you started. Most importantly, have fun!

Here you go Scott.

http://www.firstgenjigs.com/services.html

I just bought the plans, I think $70. Well worth the investment IMO.

Re: The long road has begun

Scott - Welcome to TC.

First off let me say you seem to have already started networking. Great as that is one of the best parts of Team Camaro. Second there are no stupid questions. They are only stupid if you ask them twice. Or double post in two forums at the same time.

But seriously none of us were born with a wrench in one hand and the assembly manual in the other. We have all been at the portion of the road with our project in pieces and our wallet on empty and our heart in the gutter sick over a new disaster just discovered under that patch panel you thought was the only sound sheet metal on your baby. But with the help of one another we all make it trough the fog to one day ride our Camaro with the warm feeling in our hearts, and pride in our eyes that we pulled it together, saved one from the scrap heap to run her tires down the roads of the world for another 40 years. You can bet on that.

My best advice is to search, read and ask. Some one will know what you need when you hit the dark patch of icy road in your project, even at 2 in the morning.

We are Team Camaro.

Brian
