Hello,
As is customary on web forums, my first post is introductory. My name is Dan, I live in Montana, and my wife and I purchased this 68 back in 2008 as-is. The wiring was butchered so I installed an American Autowire full harness in 2009. I still have some issues to resolve with the electrical, but at least its all new, soldiered, and traceable. Last summer I sprung for a new Performer intake, and replaced the oversized Holley carb with a rebuilt Q-jet. I want to replace that this year, thinking of a Street Demon 625. I also have some slightly used Hedman Cerami-koted full-length headers to install. I'm also hoping to upgrade to power steering this summer.
Long term plans are still undecided. I've left this car alone because it's been our only running/driving hot rod for the past several years, so I've been reluctant to tear into it and put it out of commission for any length of time. I've really been turned on to the pro touring look and style, and want to upgrade the suspension, brakes, body, and interior to more modern standards. With luck and a lot of time and money, I'd love to install a BMR Torque Arm in the back, tublular A arms and coil overs, 4-wheel discs, some nice wide skins, lower it overall about 2 inches, repaint it, do some interior upgrades (the factory seats are awful), and just make it a sweet running and driving car. I'm not a power monger or racer, and the slightly warmed small block satisfies my speed needs just fine.

Re: New member

Thanks guys! I searched around for awhile, lurking on different Camaro sites. I think this one is the best. LOTS of knowledge here, and a broad spectrum of interests from restoration, drag, pro touring, and general maintenance. Not sure how often I'll post...probably mostly when I have questions, but I think there is a great community here. Thanks again.

Re: New member

Thanks...really nice to see BMR on here. I'm very impressed with the products I've seen from BMR...hopefully I'll be able to outfit my 68 with all BMR suspension pieces, front and rear, some day!
