New to Team Camaro

Hello team Camaro. Thank you for letting me join your site. I have been using this site to restore my 1968 camaro. Your site has been very helpful. i just put a new painless performance wiring system in. With the ground cable hooked up and the positive cable unhooked i put a test light connected to the positive cable and touching the positive post and i get 2.9 volt draw. The headlight, wiper motor, are not plugged in. the volt light will go out if i unplug the alternator. With the volt light on i unplugged the wire to the ignition switch but the light never goes out. I have never come across this before. Any ideas would be appreciated
