Getting back into a 1969 camaro after a 29 year layoff

Hi Guys,

I owned a stock all original 1969 SS 350 Muncie 3 speed in HS back in the mid 1980's (bought from original owner) of course like a dummy I sold the car before college. I am buying a 1969 X66 without the original motor. I will post pictures shortly. This has been a long time coming and I am excited to get this car. Look forward to being a part of the forum.

Welcome...hopefully you checked out the car completely....there are a lot of fishy x66's out there.

6 kids...= poor man...and I wouldn't have it any other way!

'69 X11 w/PoP- finally home!

Hey Carl,

Welcome. Are you thinking of putting in a Non Numbers Matching 396? What transmission does the car have or is that in need of replacement too? Still have the 12 Bolt Posi rear end with what gears? Have you given any thought to installing an LSx Motor and possibly a T56 Manual Six Speed for modern performance?

It has the 12 bolt suspension in it. I want to get a 396 375 hp to match up to the car . I have not thought of putting in a LS6 motor. The thought does cross my mind as i don't want to get dusted by a modern mini van!
