Re: Original six cylinder rs convertible

Welcome Loneacre...In the 60's I owned a 64 dart gt with factory 4 speed, hurst shifter and a 225 slant 6...I haven't seen one since...I would say for your car to survive without someone pulling the 6 is rare... There is a growing number of people who put a higher value on an original car like yours.....probably most of the 6 cylinder cars out there were either auto or 3 speeds...some one will probably chime in with some accurate production numbers.....Len

Hey Finn - Welcome to Team Camaro.
I moved your thread from test drive to the Welcome Wagon since it looked like you intended to post it here.

might get a better response posted in a forum. Are you looking for the rarity of the vehicle against 67 production totals or are you looking for previous owners identities or both?

Brian

Re: Original six cylinder rs convertible

Welcome, Loneacre.
You might check www.camaros.org and check the production figures there, maybe.
As far as finding previous owners, good luck.
DMV would have the previous owners but probably may not give out info due to the Privacy Act.

Welcome!

The important thing here is that you ask me what kind of car I've got. "I've got a BITCHIN' CAMARO"

Re: Original six cylinder rs convertible

They're rare now. Not so much when they were built (more 327's than 6's but still). I've only know of 2 1st gen vert 6-bangers and 5 coupes.

Let me put it this way: I'm in Frederick so I go to the Camaro Nationals. I've been there twice. The first year I was the only L6 car. The second there was one other. Both coupes.

Probably 200 1st gens were there both years.

Clean her up and take her to some shows. It's amazing how many people walk right past big blocks to look at the little 6'ers.

Also check out inliners.org. Good 6 info there.

Re: Original six cylinder rs convertible

There are too few of the 6 cylinder cars! I'd love to have one myself.

From another newbie, welcome!

Thanks for the replies sorry it took so long for me to reply.
I have not found a way to get exact production number of my car 1967 RS covertible 250 4speed but the replies suggest it is rare.

Re: Original six cylinder rs convertible

They weren't rare in 1970 but since then they've all become Z28's...

That's just one example of what a 250 can be. Just bolt-on parts right now. I can make it stock in about 3 hours. She moves pretty well too.
