New member and 69 Z28 owner.

Hello everyone. I've been member since last summer but this is my first actual post. I was drawn here when I Googled my VIN and discovered it on the list of Bob Coyle Chevrolet cars. I was shocked I actually had one of those cars. At the time I wasn't completely convinced that I had a real Z. The seller wasn't either so I got it way under value. Well another member Van hooked me up with the copy of the invoice and BINGO Z28! It is a driver that is mostly all there except the original M22 trans. Now the search is on for the cars original M22. A previous owner in San Jose sold it 2007. I'm am hopeful someone knows the car from the San Jose area. It looks to have been raced (scatter shield etc). As a kid I went with my Uncle to buy a brand new Camaro in 1969. Since then I have been hooked. I have owned many Corvettes and two other 1st gens so I am really enjoying restoring this car. I finally got to drive it around the block last week after many months of restoration.

Thanks to all who have previously posted on Team Camaro as your information has been extremely valuable. I hope I can add to the mix..

Welcome Steve, definitely some great people and great information here on TC.
Have you looked over at CRG in the orphan section for your M22? It might be worth a try.
Good luck and post some pictures of your car if you can.

Re: New member and 69 Z28 owner.

This car started life as Rallye Green. The current red may be from the 80's based on condition. The keys for the car had an advertisement key ring for a Harley Davidson dealer in San Jose. The story I was told was the car was sold in order to keep a Harley. I may call those guys if they are still there just in case someone knew him. Thanks for your interest.

Steve
