What is a 1969 Camaro worth #2 condition

This is my big week, got approved for purchasing a beatiful camaro ( But I haven't signed the papers yet until i make sure that i am paying a fair price ). It's a 1969 x11 trim rs, ss, 5 speed, 427 nom, vintage air, 4 wheel disc brakes, 12 bolt rear end, hardtop, totally restored and a strong #2 condition. Curious a ballpark figure of what a fair price range is for this car? I am new on this site and appreciate the input. By the way the car is red and black stripes with red interior. Thanks Bob

Hi Bob, good luck with your purchase, hard to say without seeing pics, details and hearing he car run/drive.

Starting point would be about 25K and up depending on options.

For example do the headlight open and close?

Question Re: What is a 1969 Camaro worth #2 condition

Yes the headlights work perfectly, it sounds awesome, it has less than 1000 miles on the total restoration, I would say the paint is a 9 of 10, the engine compartment is a 10 and the interior is an 8.5. The underside is as nice as the top. Wanting 38k for the car. Or they also have a 1969 convertible 4 speed, air, 454 in the same condition for 29k, maybe its a better deal on the convertible. Thanks

They? Are you buying this from one of those classic car dealers? They are notorious for faking options and covering up damage.Make sure you have someone who knows camaros have a look at it. Is it on a website? Many of these dealer cars have been discussed before so if you could post a link someone might know something about the car. Also, if you have the vin number, you could google it and if it has been discussed here before, it will come up in your search. Hopefully, its not the case, but better safe than sorry. Those cars dont sound like originality is their selling point, but you dont want to pay for an ss rs if its not.

Both sound like mild restomods (427 and 454 engines added). When restoring a Camaro as a BB restomod, there are many shortcuts that can be taken. It is important to look at the quality of the build. If they left off important details or did not finish small parts properly, that give you an indication of the build quality. The higher the quality, the higher the price

Unless you personally know what to look for when inspecting a classic car enlist the services of a 3rd party.

It's easy to get caught up in emotion of a big motor and loud mufflers.

I tend to be very leary of any car for sale by a dealer. They either have them on consignment and are making 10-20% on the deal or they bought them on the cheap and trying to maximize profit.

Temper what you hear/read with the present economic times as well.

As suggested, take a person with a good Camaro knowledge base to help assess your intended buy, eh?

Highly highly highly recommend finding a Camaro expert or at least a very knowledgable enthusiast to go over the car with you. Especially since it sounds like you plan on financing it.

Personally I'd say scrap the financing...listen to your bank account! Buy what you can afford, and build it the right way so you don't have any surprises like you would from a dealer car.

6 kids...= poor man...and I wouldn't have it any other way!

'69 X11 w/PoP- finally home!
