Newbie from Kansas City in need of help with a coil

Been lurking for a while, but have found so much helpful info here.
I have a 67 rs/ss Camaro 350 4speed that is all stock. I'm trying to find a Delco ignition coil to replace the coil on the car now (270 br) it is starting to leak. All the parts stores I've checked have two Delco ignition coils listed, Part #s u505 & e552c. Can anyone help with which is the best replacement for my car? Thanks in advanced!

Re: Newbie from Kansas City in need of help with a coil

Welcome Greg! All new Delco coils are service replacements that no longer are close to the originals, also none will have the embossed numbers. if you cannot find an NOS one, your best bet is to get the Pertronix flamethrower coil #40011. It is black and is nearly the same size as the stock coils. It works fine with stock points (actually better than stock). I had a recent issue with my coil and tried different coils and this one (from Amazon) worked the best. It comes with a sticker that should be able to be removed (I have not tried it yet), so that it looks original. Luck!

Thanks! That's what I needed to know. Hopefully it will be temporary, until I can find/afford an original.
