New guy with a couple questions...

New to this forum, going to purchase a 1967 or 1968 convertible. My dream car would be 1968 RS/SS 396 4-speed with deluxe interior and console gauges. Based on my research I can't afford that but I have identified 3 cars that are in my price range and will (hopefully) be pulling the trigger next week. Pretty experienced wrencher, I'm about 90% done with a frame-on restoration of a 1968 Corvette roadster--no room for the kids and the wife hates it, so Camaro here we come.

I don't mind telling you I'm pretty excited about this! I'll be back with any pre-purchase questions that come up and/or pictures of my new car. What's the correct forum for such questions? What about posting pictures of a new car? Thanks in advance for everyone's help.

Have a safe and happy 4th! Cheers,

I, too, went from a 2 seat sports car to the Camaro. Kids love it, wife loves it, and I love it. You won't regret a thing!

....but I do still miss my old M Roadster...

Things to look for: Take a magnet around the bottom of the back window. Lots of rust around that area and bondo. Also rockers. Pull up the carpet and look at the floors. Get under the car. Front quarters are easy to replace. Rear? Not so much.

Welcome Chris...I too longed for a Gen-1 Camaro after going through 3 Corvettes. Now the '69 RS and '07 C6 Convertible reside together as stable mates. It's exhilaritng to have both.
Must see pics when you push the button!
