Here she is...

I posted a couple weeks back that I was searching, and the trigger has been pulled...

My first Camaro, so I'm sure I'll be back with plenty of questions. For now I am really enjoying driving!

Cheers,

Chris

Re: Here she is...

Very sharp! Now get rid of that ridiculous Ford caution fan sticker and you'll be doing alright. I love the color.

Re: Here she is...

Is it a Ford sticker? That's hilarious! I'll get the right one!

I've been looking for a 1967 or 1968 RS/SS convertible in red or black for a long time. I have been educating myself about the cars as I looked. I wanted a 396 with a 4-speed, console gauges, black deluxe interior, stock rallys with power steering and power brakes. I would've been comfortable with a car that needed work; I have a 1968 Corvette roadster that I've been restoring since 2008.

It took a while to find at a price that made sense. In this case, I got everything but the 396 (car has a newer ZZ350). The guy that sold me the car had owned it for 20 years, and had been updating it over the last several years. He included boxes and boxes of old parts, as well as an AIM in a binder with a bunch of receipts. I haven't had a chance to look through any of that stuff yet.

Re: Here she is...

I'm curious, what are the codes on the trim tag? (on the firewall behind the brake booster).
Thanks

Welcome (and congratulations), Chris! Nice looking car. There is no such thing as a correct sticker about the fan. Ford used them, and for some reason, all the Camaro vendors started carrying them, so people just assumed they belonged on their GMs.

Experience...... It's what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.

Re: Here she is...

Congrats Chris, great looking Camaro! One question about the steering wheel, it looks like a 69 shallow rosewood wheel instead of the correct 67-68 deeper walnut wheel. Does it feel like the wheel is a long way away from you? You might want to measure the depth from the hub to the rim.

Kevin

Re: Here she is...

It does look like the shallow steering wheel. There were definitely some non-1967 parts used in the restoration. Besides the steering wheel, it has a tic-toc tach!

As soon as I rebuild the war chest a little bit, I plan to put in the '67 Z87 wheel. I think that's one of the best looking steering wheels ever made...

Pictures of trim tag to come...
