Hi

Hi,

Just relocated to Houston and decided to get a 1967 Camaro SS.. Love the car, few snags but hoping to work on it during my time here.

Picture of my SS attached and a light problem I am having and I thank the community if I can get any help.

I am looking for this small metal part to be able to fix my emergency brake cable and really I am not sure of where I could get it.

I want to thank you for this forum and the support I will find here,

Bouygues

Re: Hi

Welcome aboard Bouygues. Are you just missing the factory style T handle that says Brake Release or is there another issue? Hard to tell from the photo but it looks like just the handle is missing.

Re: Hi

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the welcome.

The picture I posted is the side where I have the piece. I have the T piece in the car. I am missing this piece of metal where the cable is mounted. It seems like there was some work done on the chassis of the car and it is not there anymore.

Thanks,
Bouygues

Re: Hi

It will probably need some welding to the car I think if that helps,

The cable on the other side is just loose for the moment.

Thanks,
Bouygues

Re: Hi

Hi Luwi,

Yes the frame bracket.. I did not really know how to express it.

I have these two pieces still waiting to be mounted. I am just stuck at the moment because of this missing piece.

I would not think I could get it online but may be have to have it made but I wanted to confirm with you guys.

Thanks,
Bouygues.

Re: Hi

That's not it, in the AIM UPC5 C2 (pg. 81) has the piece listed as "bracket (part of rail asm.)" Might have to be fabricated.

Re: Hi

Welcome, Bouygues, nice Camaro - congrats
But, if the Heartbeat part has the same ID for the cable fitment, it could be the fix.
Unless some one is willing to take a picture and write onto it measurements?

Thumbs up Re: Hi

already ordered,

Cost is minimal. I will see what I will receive and will have the car lift up. I might have to have it fabricated I guess if not it, sounded like it though.

Will update once I have the spare and the car up. Will take pictures.

Thanks again
Bouygues.

Re: Hi

If you get a chance, can you post a picture of the area in question. I'm curious to see the frame rail where the bracket was, before you fix it.
