Hello Everyone

Hi guys!

I grew up riding around in the back of a Camaro. I have wanted one for as long as I can remember. I really wanted a project car to work on with my dads help. I figured he would not be around forever, and it would be something great to build memories.

Well, that plan did not completely work out. We looked at a lot of Camaros over the years. Either project cars were far too expensive for what they were or complete projects were way out of my price range.

After the local car show, and seeing a 67 for sale that had some beautiful paint (covering up a lot of problems) I got the bug bad. Since my father had belonged to the classic car and performance engine circle for a long time, he was turned on to a camaro fairly close that the owner might be persuaded to sell.

After some emails and looking at the car in person, its now in the garage! Came from a super nice guy who is a retired firefighter and just about as honest as they come. While there isnt much left the car needs, I think we all know there is always more that can be done. I have a ton of questions already!

Thanks for the welcome, Jonathon. I have to admit, I kind of like the vent windows in the 67's, but 68's have always been my favorite.

As soon as it stops raining and I get insurance, I will work on more pictures

I have to agree on the 8's being my favorite as well, but all of them to me is just as great as the others. And don't blame you on the insurance! Again black is beautiful!...

I just read your "story" and every page in your thread. What a cool story and great journey. I cant wait to see the finished product. I can only imagine how great it feels to do all that work yourself.

I have absolutely zero mechanic/paint/electrical ability. I would never be able to complete a project like this, but hopefully with some help I can add my own touches to the new Camaro and know I had a least a little input in the way it turned out.

Re: Hello Everyone

I have something I have to share with you guys. The day after I brought the Camaro home, I was at work driving down an alley when I caught something out of the corner of my eye and through an old fence. I did some investigating and discovered it was a RS/SS in pretty original condition. I dont know what the engine or interior is like, but how cool!

I got to looking around and realized I had been to this house before, about 15 years ago. I wanted a Camaro back then too! I asked the owner about selling it, and although I was pretty young and probably not the kind of person a serious Camaro owner would sell something like this to, it has NOT MOVED an inch in over 15 years. I hate to see them sit and rot like this. Can tou guys tell what year it is? 69?

I knocked on the door while taking a picture from the side. No answer, but I doubt he would sell it. ... I will try to post the side picture tomorrow.

Here is a picture of the side.

Thanks for the compliments it's a somewhat work in progress to say the least!
And dang that pic is hard to tell from me but looks like a 67? Being it looks like the turn signals have the trim on the turn signals in the lower valance. I may be wrong on that but would/could be a nice car to bring back to the road. Just goes to show they are still out there waiting for someone to come and take them back to where they belong!
