New guy...kind of.....

So I'm not new to Camaros. I've owned a 78, 79, and 81. Alas, the 81 was mostly restored, but then college and life forced it into the garage where my mother evicted it a few years ago.
Life continued to move along, and then the bug bit me again and I realized I was actually in a position to get back into things.
I had enough cash to pick up the car I pretty much lusted after since I was a kid, almost. I always wanted a 69, but was really happy with what I got...
It's a 68, and it's not perfect, but pretty darn nice. Not rust eaten, and looks good from 5' away.

More details in a few minutes, but I bought her last Friday, and finally got her registered Tuesday, and last night took her for the first drive. First time she's been on the road in years, and loved every second of it!

Re: New guy...kind of.....

And here are some pictures and details...

I'm 90% sure she's a true SS, but the block was replaced with a date-correct one, just not the original, and I don't have the build sheet.
I'm going based on what I know, and the signs are pretty much there that either someone spent a lot of effort doing the conversion a long time ago, or she's a real SS.
Spec-wise, you can see, she's got a big block that was rebuilt a few thousand miles ago.
Factory 4 speed
Factory console gauges (which is one of the things I've loved for years)
Tik-tok tach
Cowl hood
Headers with cherry-bombs and turrndowns right after them
New upholstery
Paint isn't perfect, but I can drive it for the next few summers and then always tear it apart.

Manual brakes, 4 wheel drum. Forgot how much fun that can be. Tomorrow I'm doing the front wheel disc brakes and power conversion....
