After 20 years from selling my first 68 Camaro, and looking over countless cars over that time, one found my wife and I when we were least expecting it, and now it's home.
It was a barn find...from a neighbor of my sister and brother-in-law's whose father had passed 5 years ago; who did not have it listed for sale; who had come to terms with it being time to let one of the cars go that he and his father shared; a man who lived cars with his father (as I did with mine); one who was simply looking for the right owner. Turns out that was us, and we're ecstatic!
I got it running the day we brought it home. July 24th, 2016.
Making it road-worthy again...haven't even washed it yet! (Update in my "garage" as to the current status of it... Looking good!)
Three-owner car(now); 1st owner bought new, second owner bought in 1974, third owners (us), bought in July, 2016.
All original, aside from full quarters done in 1984. Entire car repainted at that time. The car was parked that same year, never to run or move again until Sunday, 7/24/2016.
Driver's seat recovered(Incorrect white), but other than that, nothing else has been done to it. 108,000 original miles. Always stored in protected/conditioned pole barn on concrete and car skates.
We're already taken it hockey practices and dinner once. Working out a couple minor bugs, but what do you expect.
It's a dream!!!
